Preface
All of these things can be mixed, matched, and sorted as needed; they’re not hard rules/absolutes, since nothing survives the real world without getting intact. So, just pick them apart, dissect them and grab the useful bits for me right now.
Reality’s always shifting, so these are just ‘frameworks’ I can tear into and fuse together when i want.
always Create multiple fallbacks/backups in case of fuckups.
Plan A: Freelance Gardener → 1-man Company → BV (current plan)
- Get VCA certificaat, KVK uitrekstelsel, aansprakelijkheidsverzekering, modelovereenkomst, register at KVK, build experience, get tools
- Freelancer means more pay but less job security; instead, more freedom and broader experience.
- Start solo, scale up if/when needed.
- See [Legal/Certification Requirements].
- current job: Freelance gardener (freelancer) and Hovenier worker
- safe money for buying a van to further expand on my gardening.
Plan B: Worker/contractor
- Hovenier/gardener
- What do I need?
- Experience.
- Tools (sometimes included if freelancing at a company, but not always).
- Certificates (see “Legal/Certification Requirements” at the end of this document).
- Why/Pros?
- Money (freelancer = more than regular worker).
- Job safety/stability.
- Build experience.
- How?
- Apply as freelancer at a company, probably do projects for them.
- Difficulties (before/during):
- Getting a well paying job
- Getting motivating to continue working
- Cons:
- Less freedom, as the company decides what I work on (maybe I can suggest stuff).
- Company sets the price for my work.
- current education:
Software DeveloperHovenier
Plan C: Creating Company
- Options: Gardening, nursery/greenhouse, bonsai, terrarium, landscape architect.
- What do I need?
- People (hiring).
- Money for BV (can do 1-man company, but more risk).
- Tools (depends on company type).
- Webshop.
- Problems:
- Legal stuff is the main hurdle.
- And after the legal stuff will be the hiring part, how do i know what people to hire?
- Cons:
- The cons change depending on what type of company, and needs their own research
- plans after finishing school OR dropping out:
- find a hovenier MBO education, preferably BBL.
- create gardening business (career path: first focus on maintenance and then expand to learn design. OR creating a growery)
- I will eventually work on per result(per garden size/planting needs/buying plants? I need to figure out a calculation)
- eventually create small Game company with money from gardening business?
Plan D: Gardener Influencer
- Options: VTuber, streamer, YouTuber. (general content creator)
- What do I need?
- Equipment: Camera, VTuber avatar or persona setup, microphone.
- Editing software: Premier, CapCut/OpenCut, DaVinci/Blender.
- Skills: Content planning, SEO for videos, engagement tools.
- Other: Analytics apps and consistency (planner).
- Why/Pros?
- Earn money through ads/sponsorships, build a community, flexible work combining passion with online reach.
- How?
- Start with consistent posting (3 x/week), focus on or ride trends like sustainable gardening, use free tools to build an audience before scaling up.
- Difficulties (before/during):
- Algorithm changes and competition; niche might die down.
- Plan for burnout.
- Cons:
- Time-intensive, inconsistent income early on, reliance on platforms for visibility.
- making a game in free-time to make better use of my time.
Fallback: Failure/bankrupt/homeless
- Preventative:
- Use 30/30/30 rule (savings/wants/essentials).
- Always switch from 1-man company to BV to limit personal liability.
- If it happens (depends on severity):
- Seek alternative work (employment, freelancing, gigwork—even if reputation is ruined, can go anonymous).
- If reputation is trashed, reach out to connections (former clients, colleagues, friends in industry) to help rebuild.
Fallback: Legacy/death
- Preventative:
- Create own health/longevity protocol (inspired by Bryan Johnson and other protocols), focus on active measures such as exercise, healthy nutrition, and medical check-ups.
- Do daily walks and daily meditation; this forms preventative habits instead of being reactive, reducing health risks over time (as reactive ones may be too late).
- Have a crypto stash; make sure someone inherits the hard key (like Ledger or Trezor, more research needed), and share instructions with a trusted person or via a digital will.
- Cash stash (or gold) with secret location; store in a safe spot like a bank safe, encrypted digital file, or bury it (include clear instructions in the will to make it accessible to heirs).
- Create AI based on myself or build a simple digital version by compiling my notes, videos, and talking to it (higher chance of being successful the longer I live).
- Location with some gold; keep amount in either a secure, insured safe, or bury it somewhere.
- Someone must inherit my notes; so upload privately online and set up a digital inheritance, but also try to keep a physical copy for a backup
- Cryopreservation sleep; actionable: Sign up, costs $50,000 (higher chance of being successful the longer I live).
Misc/mini Plan
- Plant terrarium requires the least room, so I can do it in my van.
- Do ?? And sell it for 10 euro and do this 10 times another 10 times and then another 10 times.
- future house huge inhouse garden with plants that will grow on the stairs and on the walls
- when bying things, always look at the buy it for life subreddit. for long term investment in stuff.
- dont overanalyze, avoid stagnation by overpreperation/paralysis by over analysis
- avoid sunken ship falacy
